Cory Ward

Born and raised in Las Vegas Cory Ward played his youth hockey at the Sobe Ice Arena and Ice Center for the Las Vegas Outlaws, and Nevada stars. After being a futures draft pick by the Tri-City Storm and 2 years of Jr. Hockey he earned a scholarship to Bemidji State University in Minnesota. At Bemidji State he was the first true-freshmen recruit in the schools Division 1 history. In his four years at Bemidji State he was 2nd all time for single season goals behind, Minnesota Wilds Matt Read and was honored to make the All-WCHA and All-Freshman teams. During his Senior year he played his first professional games for the Montreal Canadians AHL affiliate. the St. Johns Ice Caps. Afterward, Cory has played the last 3 seasons in the ECHL and AHL for the Los Angles Kings, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Florida Panthers organizations. Cory lives in Las Vegas and is currently training for his fourth professional season.

Giving young hockey players in Las Vegas the highest level of development is where Corys’s passion comes from. He has been the young player driving to Sobe Ice Arena for skating lessons, and wants to give the same players the tools to make hockey a career.
